It’s never an easy decision to entrust your best friend to a dog walker. But at Good Dog Walking, we aim to make it easier and less stressful for you by providing an exceptional dog walking services. Our sole focus is making sure your dog’s walk with us is the highlight of his day. We believe a happy dog is stimulated and well exercised. We pride ourselves of offering professional, caring and reliable dog walking services to give owners peace of mind when they leave their dog with us.

Our unrivalled range of dog services have been designed around you and the needs of your dog. Our main dog care services are solo walks, half or full-day countryside day care and also home visits.

We also offer the option of group walking if your dog is comfortable mixing with other dogs. Our most popular service is the one-hour group walk, but in most cases your dog will be out of the house for longer than an hour. The walker will collect your dog from home and will be driven in the car, collecting his friends on route, to the location for the walk. On return, he will be towelled down (if wet and muddy conditions) before being left with a treat and a fresh bowl of water.

The Good Dog Walking team has experience in a cross section of breeds, temperaments and ages of dogs. So, don’t worry if your pooch is anxious and doesn’t like to be around other dogs, or if he’s elderly and a bit grumpy. This is why our meet and greet process is essential and non-negotiable. It is our opportunity to learn as much as possible about your dog and his unique traits, so we fully understand how to care for him and take on board your wishes, such as walking on or off the leader.

We are adept at caring for puppies from eight weeks old too. On our puppy visits, we will take your new pup into the garden to encourage the correct toileting habits and clear up any accidents and lay fresh puppy pads, if required. We can stay a while and play with the puppy and also ensure he’ eaten any food you have left. We always ensure all dogs have fresh water when we leave.

We ask clients to inform us of any specific commands you are teaching your puppy and we’ll also use the same words to ensure consistency in the training. For puppies that have not had their full course of vaccinations, we will ensure they don’t leave your garden or come into contact with other dogs. Once your pup is safe to venture outside your garden, we may take him on a short leash walk. The walker may also introduce your puppy to calmer, older dogs to help with his socialization.

We frequently carry out home visits for elderly dogs that have limited mobility and are no longer able to go on for energic walks. We will encourage your dog into garden for a comfort break and stay a while to ensure it has some fuss and a cuddle. Home visits can also be organised if your dog is recovering from an illness or operation and you want us to go in and do a check-up, a quick toilet break and administer medication if required.

We fully understand how stressful it can be leaving a tiny puppy or an elderly dog. So, if you would like your dog walker to give you a quick update on how your dog is after our visit, we will be more than happy to do this.

Each member of the Good Dog Walking team prides themselves on being responsible citizens. As such, we are each carry packs of bio-degradable dog waste bags and all waste is disposed of correctly – in a bin. The walkers are also armed with packs of tasty and healthy treats and of course a tennis ball or two. If your dog is whistle trained, we will make sure we get the same pitch of whistle for consistency and ease of recall.

Unlike some dog walking businesses, Good Dog Walking will accept bitches that have not been spayed. However, we ask owners to advise your dog walker as soon your bitch comes into season. While we are happy to continue walking her during this time, we cannot take any responsibility for unwanted pregnancies that may occur. We recommend that you may want to consider altering your requirements during this time to house visits to ensure she remains calm and safe.
