Why Choose

Good Dog Walking

If you’re looking for a professional and reliable dog walker, then you’ve come to the right place. Our bespoke dog walking and pet care services are created solely around the needs of you and your pet.

So, if you’re looking for someone to walk your dog five days a week, mid-morning, that’s no problem. If you’re going on holiday and want someone to call in and feed your cat while you’re away, Good Dog Walking can help with that too. Or, if you need a dog walker, but only once a week, then we can accommodate that too.

We have a big enough team to be able to cater for your individual requirements. But we don’t just look after dogs and cats, we are frequently asked to provide holiday care for rabbits and other small household animals too. We’ve also been known to visit hens to collect their eggs and ensure they’re fed and watered!

We are professional

Each member of the Good Dog Walking team is local to Morpeth, so they know where all the best walks are. All have their own transport, complete with cages and harnesses for safely transporting your pet. Reliability is one of our core values. We turn up when we say we will and will always be in a uniform, so you can easily identify us.

For your added peace of mind, each team member is covered under the Good Dog Walking insurance. We also insist that any walker has an up to date DBS check before they can join the GDW family. Each member of the dog walking team has an up to date Canine first aid certificate too, so we know how to administer basic first aid should an accident happen and until professional veterinary assistance can be accessed.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic started in March 2020, we have upgraded our paper signing in sheets with a mobile app, which we actively encourage all our clients to download and register their pet(s) on.

You will receive push notifications when your walker arrives and when they return back to your home address. The app also provides information on where your dog has been that day, together with updates on drinks, treats and of course toileting!

It’s the little touches

Once your furry friend is registered with us, your pet will be matched with a member of the Good Dog Walking team and you then can communicate directly with your regular dog walker if you need to make changes to your requirements, or just update them on new care plans.

If you are registering your dog with us for external walks, we will provide a Good Dog Walking identification tag for their collar, with details to call us if they are lost and found.

Even dog walkers need a holiday! But we have this in hand too. With six dedicated dog walkers in the team, and more planned for the future, we can provide holiday cover for each other, so you don’t have the hassle of finding alternative cover when your regular dog walker has a few days away.

Before team members go on holiday, your usual dog walker will conduct a thorough handover of all their charges, including a meet and greet, to ensure your pet is happy and relaxed with its new walker. Likewise, the new dog walker knows everything they need to do about your pet, from likes and dislikes of treats to whether they can be let off the leader and if they like to socialise with other dogs.

We are the fourth emergency service

Sometimes life just doesn’t go according to plan and that can be even more stressful when you have a dog at home who needs walking and feeding or any other household pets to look after. So, if you need to call us on a moment’s notice, we will do our very best to help you out.
